Zydus Wellness posts standalone Q4 net loss of ₹10 cr

Consolidated net profit stood at ₹62 crore

Zydus Wellness, an arm of Zydus Cadila Group, on Tuesday registered a standalone net loss of ₹ 10 crore for the quarter ended March 2019, as against net profit of ₹ 36 crore reported in the corresponding quarter a year ago. The company's total standalone income stood at ₹ 65 crore, as against ₹77 crore reported in the same period last year.

For the financial year 2018-19, company's standalone net profit stood at ₹ 96 crore as against ₹ 134 crore in the previous year. Total standalone income for the year stood at ₹ 315 crore as against ₹ 292 crore in the previous year.

Zydus posted a consolidated net profit of ₹ 62 crore for the quarter under review as against ₹ 36 crore reported in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Total consolidated income for the quarter stood at ₹ 425 crore as against ₹ 141 crore in the same quarter last year. For the year 2018-19, company posted consolidated profit of ₹ 169 crore as against ₹ 134 crore in the previous year, while the total consolidated income increased to ₹ 882 crore as against ₹ 556 crore in the previous year.

“The consolidated financial results include the results of operations of the acquired business of Heinz India Pvt. Ltd., for two months. During the year under review, the company successfully completed the acquisition of Heinz India Private Limited, the subsidiary of Kraft Heinz. Heinz India has subsequently been merged with Zydus Nutritions Ltd., a subsidiary of the company, through a scheme of amalgamation, the company said in a statement.

Zydus Wellness shares were trading lower by 0.13 per cent at ₹1,334.80.
