The Karnataka government today said it has deleted as many as 10 lakh bogus job cards in the state under the rural job guarantee schemes, Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Act (MNREGA).
The Rural Development and Panchayat Raj Minister Mr Jagadish Shettar said here that the cards were rejected after close scrutiny by gram panchayat officials.
The government has also booked cases and suspended several officials on charges of fraud in the purchase and distribution of materials under the MNREGA, he said.
