The 12th Plan document that seeks to raise the economic growth rate to nine per cent during the five-year period (2012-17) will be ready by September, six months after the beginning of the Plan period.
As per the schedule, the Planning Commission will begin finalising the 12th Plan document, running into several volumes, in April and it would take at least six months to prepare the document, a source privy to the development said.
Traditionally, the Plan panel has been unveiling the policy documents months after beginning of the Plan period and this time too it will be no different.
The source further said the Commission is scheduled to complete the spade work relating to formulation of the Plan document by March. This includes submission of reports of steering committees and working groups and eliciting views of different ministries and departments.
