A total of 130 bids were received for 21 ready to produce coal blocks at the technical stage. The technical bids were opened for the 21 blocks on Sunday with Utkal B1 and B2 being left out.
These set of 21 blocks will be next to go under the hammer from February 25. Between now and February 25, a technical committee will evaluate the technical competence of the bidders and shortlist them for the financial bid stage. Previously, for the 23 producing coal blocks, at total of 176 technical bids were received.
Originally, 23 ready to produce blocks were to be offered for auction but after the Delhi High Court order last week, Utkal B1 and B2 were removed from the list.
