The Delhi High Court on Wednesday issued notice to the CBI on the bail applications of three accused persons in the 2G spectrum case including Swan Telecom promoter Mr Shahid Usman Balwa. The others are Mr Asif Balwa and Mr Rajeev B Agarwal, the promoters of Kusegaon Fruits and Vegetables Pvt Ltd. The matter will be heard again on June 10. All the three accused are in Tihar jail after their bail plea was rejected by the Special Court hearing the case.
The CBI had accused Mr Shahid of conspiring with former Telecom Minister Mr A Raja and other public servants in getting the 2G licence and giving bribe in return. The investigating agency had alleged that Mr Asif and Mr Agarwal were instrumental in facilitating the Rs 200 crore bribe transactions to Kalaignar TV for giving 2G licence to Swan Telecom.
