Administrative Training Institute (ATI), Mysore, and Azim Premji University have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to initiate projects in governance and conduct training.

According to a senior official of urban development department, as a part of this MoU, both the organisations would collaborate in areas such as public service delivery, rural development, urban development, education, health, revenue and police.

“The tie-up will provide for starting a certification course on public policy for government officers,” he added.

Further, the treaty will facilitate exchange of faculties and undertake research and documentation of best practices in the government sector.

ATI is one of the top training institutes in the State conducting capacity building programmes on regular basis to both IAS and KAS officers and offer common foundation course for newly recruited officers of the State along with two other institutes – Abdul Nazir Sab Institute for Rural Development (ANSIRD) and State Institute for Urban Development (SIUD) in ATI campus.

After signing the MoU, Dr Amita Prasad, Director General and Principal Secretary, Department of Urban Development, said the tie-up with Azim Premji University provides for conducting workshops, leadership development programmes, training in public private partnership seminars and short duration programmes in relevant areas of administration and development.

Mr Giridhar, Registrar, Azim Premji University, signed the MoU in the presence of Prof Sastry and Prof Chiranjib Sen from Azim Premji University.
