The condition of yoga guru Baba Ramdev, who was admitted to a hospital near here yesterday evening, is stable, his close aides said today.
Ramdev, who was admitted to the Himalayan Institute of Medical Sciences after his condition deteriorated on the seventh day of his fast against corruption, was administered saline and glucose.
A spokesman of the hospital said a team of doctors would again monitor Ramdev’s health in the morning and issue a medical bulletin later in the day.
“He is conscious. He spoke to his aides last night,” sources said.
Ramdev was being administered intervenous fluid — glucose and normal saline — following which his condition improved, doctors said.
The 46-year-old yoga exponent was admitted to the ICU immediately after he was brought to the hospital where the doctors examined him.
The Chief Minister, Mr Ramesh Pokhriyal Nishank, said the government took the decision to hospitalise Baba Ramdev due to his falling health.
