CCPA to decide on Winter Session extension on Tuesday: Venkaiah Naidu

The Cabinet Committee on Parliamentary Affairs (CCPA) will meet on Tuesday to take a decision on whether to extend the duration of Winter Session or not, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Venkaiah Naidu has said.

"Tomorrow the CCPA will meet and decide on this", Naidu told BusinessLine at Parliament House when asked if the Winter Session would get extended if the crucial Bills like insurance does not get passed in Rajya Sabha by Tuesday.

Naidu expressed confidence that the Opposition members would work for the country's interest and support the crucial Bills such as Insurance, Coal passed in the ongoing Session itself.

"We have already given notices for taking up the insurance, motor vehicles, Delhi related Bills," Naidu said.

The duration of the Winter Session--which commenced three weeks back-- is slated to end on Tuesday.
