The Chief Minister, Mr Oommen Chandy, has promised to safeguard the interests of employees and pensioners when the Kerala State Electricity Board is converted into a company.
He assured a delegation representing various unions and associations of the Board that discussions would be held with all representative bodies before KSEB becomes a company, a press release issued by Mr D.K. Ravi, State secretary of the Kerala Electricity Employees Confederation, said.
In a memorandum submitted to the Chief Minister, the delegation urged the State government to enact new legislation to protect the interests of employees and pensioners as done in other States.
