The Union Minister Jitin Prasad today said controlling price rise was also the responsibility of the state government which should instruct its officials to check hoarding and black-marketing.
“It is also the responsibility of the state government to check price spiral,” said the minister of State for Human Resource Development on the sidelines of 2nd “Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Debate” here.
The state government should instruct district-level officials to control blackmarketing and hoarding,” he said.
On Uttar Pradesh, the minister said funds totalling Rs 54,000 crore were given to the state by the Planning Commission this year.
Highlighting achievements of the UPA government at the Centre, he said it was committed to providing compulsory education to all.
The minister said there was an ambitions plan to connect all universities and degree colleges through information technology to provide world class education to students.
He said students from Lucknow were migrating to other states for better educational and job opportunities.
