The Corporate Affairs Ministry on Monday released the first tranche of the draft rules under the new company law for public comments.
India has enacted a new modern company law that has replaced the 56-year-old Companies Act, 1956.
The first tranche of draft rules, which has been posted on the Ministry's website, covers 16 chapters under the new legislation.
Rules are significant as much of the administration of the new law is expected to be done through the subordinate legislation.
The last date for receiving public comments on the draft rules will be October 8.
The second tranche of the rules is expected to be released next week.
