Flight operations were largely unaffected at the Indira Gandhi International airport which witnessed shallow fog this morning.
Almost all of the flights departed on schedule as the airport witnessed shallow fog, an airport official said.
However, some of the flights were cancelled or delayed due to inclement weather at their destinations, he said.
The runway visibility at the main runway remained over 2000 metres through the night and early in the morning. It started to dip as shallow fog enveloped the airport around 7:30 a.m..
The runway visibility at the new runway and the second runway also hovered above 1500 metres till 7:30 a.m. after which it dipped to around 700 metres, the official said.
The Met department has predicted 120 hours of dense fog till mid February, which may badly affect the flight operations and cause inconvenience to passengers.
