Senior bureaucrats such as Mr G.B. Pradhan, Secretary, Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, Mr Tarun Kapoor, Joint Secretary, MNRE, Mr Satnam Singh, Chairman and Managing Director, Power Finance Corporation, Mr Ajay Mathur, Bureau of Energy Efficiency and Mr Debashish Mazumdar, Chairman, IREDA, have committed to attending Renergy 2012, an international conference on renewable energy.

The conference-cum-exhibition event, which will happen on March 12 and 13, is being organised by the Tamil Nadu Energy Development Agency (TEDA).

At a press conference here today, the organisers said that government officials from ten states have also given their consent to their participation.

This is the second green energy expo-conference that TEDA is holding. Last year, a similar event was held by TEDA, under the name ‘Vavova 2011'.

This year's conference assumes added importance against the backdrop of the Tamil Nadu Government having disclosed its intention to cause 3,000 MW of solar energy capacity to be built up in the State by 2016. Also, this conference is being held in the aftermath of the completion of two rounds of bidding and project awards under the National Solar Mission. With that experience behind them, industry players would be keen on learning of opportunities in various States.

Renergy 2012 will provide a holistic sector wise growth across all regions of the State says Mr Rohit Rabindernath, CEO and Managing Director of Zynergy Projects, which is the principal sponsor of the event. The event, focused on business to business transactions, provides an exceptional opportunity for businesses and delegates alike to know the latest and meet industry professionals and experts. The event also has a number of other prominent national and international sponsors such as C-WET, L&T, SunEdison, Southern Batteries, Gamesa Electric, CLP. ReGen Powertech, Suzlon, CLPand Infinite ERCAM.
