The role of the company in adopting the ITI was focussed on sprucing up infrastructure, curriculum enrichment, training the trainers and enhancing employability.
The company carried out workshop training to all senior students in Mechanics (Motor Vehicle). After completion of training at local workshops, campus interview was arranged at ITI.
Out of the total 90 students, around 40 have joined MSIL dealerships for apprenticeship and others got employment in various private workshops.
Besides, the initiative to enhance communicative skills in English has helped them enhance their employability.
A statement issued here said that Maruti has drawn up all-India plans to scale up ITI adoption from 10 to 50 in the next three years. The first ITI adopted by MSIL was in Gurgaon in 2005-06.
