India will become “a great country” in the next 30-40 years on the strength of its human resources, knowledge and innovation, the Maharashtra Chief Minister, Mr Prithviraj Chavan, has said.

“The decade 2010-20 is the decade of evolution where the people have the ability to innovate, create wealth and new jobs, grab new opportunities and take a route of entrepreneurship. The management skills, innovations and science will build new industries,” he said.

Mr Chavan was speaking at the convocation of Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies here last evening. “Today India is a much more robust economy, destined to become a major power in the world,” Mr Chavan said.

Mr Amrish Patel, Chancellor of NMIMS and Chairman, Board of Management, said NMIMS had remained NAAC accredited ‘A' grade institution since 1999. The average compensation for the Batch of 2012 stood at Rs 13.04 lakh, while the highest offer rose to Rs 30 lakh, he said.
