Come December, global experts in the aluminium industry will be in Hyderabad to discuss issues confronting the sector.
INCAL 2011, the sixth international conference on aluminium, will be organised by the Aluminium Association of India between December 6 and 8.
Representatives from various overseas aluminium organisations such as the European Aluminum Association, the International Aluminum Institute, The Aluminum Association, USA, the Japan Aluminum Association, and the Brazilian Aluminum Association along with the Ministry of Mines will actively participate.
In a press release, Prof. K.S.S. Murthy, General Secretary of the Aluminum Association, said the meet expects to attract investors into the aluminium sector in India. It would also focus on the key role that the metal plays in the overall economic growth of a country.
The global aluminium sector is undergoing a metamorphosis. Mergers and acquisitions are gaining significance to achieve economies of scale. Ever increasing power costs, coupled with scarcity, technological advancement, emission control and related environmental issues, have not only provided challenges but also created opportunities for the industry, the release added.
Higher consumption levels in packaging, building and construction, automotive and consumer durable sectors, besides normal consumption in electrical, transport and other industrial sectors, will contribute to the growth of the industry in India.
