The Indian Institute of Management, Kozhikode (IIM-K), is holding a conference in association with the global organisation of Technology, Entertainment and Design (TED) on July 9.
TED is a 25-year-old non-profit organisation devoted to ‘Ideas worth Spreading' and past TED annual conferences had featured speakers like Mr Bill Gates, Mr Al Gore, Sir Richard Branson, late Prof. C.K. Prahlad and Mr Nandan Nilekani, among others. IIM-K is the first IIM in the country to hold an independent TED conference, according to a release from the institute.
The IIM-K event, styled TEDx, is designed to spread ideas, inspire people by providing a platform for talks by entrepreneurs, innovators, policy makers and scientists. There will be 12 speakers from different walks of life at the one-day event, which will also showcase a performance by the rock band, Euphoria.
The event is supported by Microsoft, Pagalguy and Doattend, says the release.
