The Special Court for CBI has posted the bail petitions of former Karnataka Tourism Minister, Mr Gali Janardhana Reddy, and the Managing Director of Obulapuram Mining Corporation, Mr B.V.Srinivas Reddy, for Monday. The matter relates to bail petition filed by the duo in the case initiated by the CBI and also the latter's petition seeking the custody of the two, for their alleged illegal mining resulting in loss of crores of rupees to the Government. The apex investigating agency is opposing the bail petition on the ground that these two high profile businessmen could tamper evidence in the illegal mining case. The CBI is, in fact, seeking custody to continue its investigations. After a day long hearing, the Court has posted the matter to Monday. Mr Uday Lalit, Supreme Court Lawyer, flew in by a special charted flight to argue the bail petition on behalf of the Reddy's. In the illegal mining case, the CBI had also filed a petition for seizure warrant of over 50 items which include luxury cars and jewellery from the residence of Mr Janardhana Reddy in Bellary. Meanwhile, the CBI continues to summon people for questioning in Mr Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, MP's case and Emaar properties cases. As a part of its ongoing investigations, it searched the office premises of Jubilee Media owned by Mr Lagadapati Sridhar, brother of Congress MP and former Chairman of Lanco Infratech, Mr Lagadapati Rajagopal.
