Chief negotiators from the EU and India will meet in Brussels on Friday for two days of brain-storming on the proposed bilateral free trade agreement (FTA).
Commerce and Industry Minister Anand Sharma, in his interaction with visiting British Minister of State, Foreign and Commonwealth Hugo Swire said both sides wanted to finalise a balanced trade agreement at the earliest.
“The offers on the table are very strong and largely we have meeting of minds,” he said.
The EU and India had started negotiations on a FTA that includes goods, services, investments and Government procurement, in 2007 and hope to conclude it soon.
Sharma apprised the UK Minister about opportunities for investment in India including developing integrated industrial townships especially in the proposed Chennai Bangalore Industrial Corridor Project.
