Infosys Foundation will build a 150-bed ‘dharmashala' at the Karnataka Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) Hospital in Hubli.
The chairperson of Infosys Foundation, Ms Sudha Murthy, performed the bhoomi puja for the project recently, while cardiologist Dr Mahabaleshwar Mayya laid the foundation stone. The director of KIMS, Dr Vasantha Kamath, principal Dr U.S. Hangaraga and others were present.
Ms. Murthy said the ‘dharmashala' would be along the lines of the ones built by it at Kidwai Hospital and NIMHANS in Bangalore.
The foundation's project, estimated to cost Rs 5 to 6 crore, is likely to be completed in a year.
