The hill station of Kodaikanal is to developed at a cost of Rs 6crore, Dindigul District Collector, Mr M. Vallalar, said here.
Speaking after inaugurating the flower show organised by the Department of Horticulture at Bryant Park, the Collector said that battery—operated cars would be introduced in the town to prevent pollution. A modern aquarium would also be started and cottages would be built , he said.
In order to prevent congestion of vehicles in the town, it had been decided to build parking lots on land belonging to the revenue department, Mr Vallalar said.
A new flower park would also be established near Coaker's Walk, he said. Among other facilities planned are modern toilets and protected water supply, the Collector said.
