A SIRCILLA SAREE IN A MATCH BOX: The Sircilla match box saree that has set world records and presented to US President’s wife Michelle Obama is now being extensively marketed in Hyderabad. The saree weighs 62 grammes. Sircilla is a predominantly a weavers town in Karimnagar District of Andhra Pradesh. There are lots of suicide reported for the past 10 years because of poverty & crisis in weaver community; however this 'match box saree' has catapulted the town back into an iconic status.
