Minister visits Singur

The State Commerce and Industry Minister, Mr Partha Chatterjee, today visited the abandoned Tata Nano plant site at Singur. He was accompanied by the managing director of WBIDC, Mr Subrata Gupta. It may be mentioned that return of 400 acres of land to the farmers who did not accept the government compensation was a prime election agenda of the Mamata Banerjee led Trinamool Congress. The government took a Cabinet decision in this regard on May 20.
