South Eastern Railway (SWR) plans to continue superfast weekly special trains between Howrah-Mysore(train nos. 08003/08004) to clear extra rush of passengers on the eve of Durga Puja festival. Accordingly, train No.08003 Howrah-Mysore train will depart at Howrah at 4.10 pm on Fridays, from September 16 to November 18 and arrive at 5 am at Mysore, on Sundays. In the return direction, Train No.08004 Mysore- Howrah train will depart from Mysore at 12.30 (mid-night) on Mondays, from September 19 to November 21 and arrive at Howrah Station at 2.50 pm on Tuesdays.

UAS-Dharwad to honour 13 farmers

The University of Agricultural Sciences – Dharwad (UAS-D) to honour 13 farmers this year with ‘Best Farmer' and ‘Best Farm Woman' awards. The awards will be presented during the four-day Krishi Mela, which will be held here from September 9. The winners of the Best Farmer award are: Dushyanthraj Kolluri (Sirsi, Uttara Kannada), Chenabasappa Kombali (Ranebennur, Haveri), Vitthal Dhani (Nargund, Gadag), Pandurang Gandamali (Hubli), Subhash Kamaldinni (Gokak, Belgaum), Krishnagouda Patil (Basavana Bagewadi, Bijapur) and Mallangouda Rudragoudar (Jamkhandi, Bagalkot). The winners of the Best Farm Woman award are: Kalavathi Talwar (Banavasi, Uttara Kannada), Rajeshwari Hiremath (Hangal, Haveri), Gangavva Hubli (Kalghatgi, Dharwad), Eravva Mathpathi (Ramdurg, Belgaum), Shantha Desai (Bijapur) and Neelavva Kabbur (Jamkhandi, Bagalkot).
