The Andhra Pradesh Government has directed the Energy Co-ordination Cell to prepare a comprehensive action plan for awareness campaign for energy conservation in various sectors both at the demand and supply side in the transmission networks.
According to a statement from the Energy Coordination Cell, the Government has called for new plan after being impressed with the recommendations of the report submitted by the Energy Conservation Committee headed by Mr Ahmed Nadeem, Chairman and Managing Director of AP Eastern Power Distribution Company Ltd.
Record consumption
The State experienced a record consumption of 288 million units (MUs ) during the recent khariff crop season as against 277 MUs in rabi.
