The UK visa application centre will be operational in Bangalore from May 28.
The British Deputy High Commissioner, Mr Ian Felton, said that 2012 is a great year to travel to the UK because of the diamond jubilee celebrations of the Queen's reign and the London Olympics.
The new visa application centre at Central Street will have a premium lounge with dedicated staff and various facilities. Internet facilities at the centre will allow customers to complete and print their online visa application forms. Internet facilities will be provided in other centres soon, Mr Felton said.
The normal hours for submission of applications and collection of documents are being extended by two hours for customers in Bangalore, and the working hours of the centre are 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., a press release said.
