The official level panel on gas pricing, comprising Secretary, Ministry of Power, Fertiliser Secretary, Expenditure Secretary and Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas had its first meeting on Monday.
The panel, which would come with a new price for domestically produced gas will now seek comments from gas producers before it gives its view, a senior official of the Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said.
The meeting held on Monday morning was attended by PK Sinha, Secretary, Ministry of Power, Jugal Kishore Mohapatra, Fertiliser Secretary, Ministry of Chemicals and Fertilisers, Ratan P Watal, Expenditure Secretary, Ministry of Finance and Rajive Kumar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The Government said on June 25 that it will come out with a new price for domestically produced gas in the next three months (till September end) after the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs had deferred a decision on the same.
