IT and ITeS companies will soon be looking at fully serviced offices rather than addressing the multitude of services that go into office upkeep in-house, said Mr Biswajit Ghosh, Head of Procurement, Cognizant Technology Solutions.
Mr Ghosh was participating in a summit on ‘Estate cost and implications for corporates' organised by Piramal Realty, Jones Lang LaSalle and Global Initiative for Restructuring Environment and Management.
The next level is heading towards pay per seat, where the companies would outsource all services relating to lease, upkeep and maintenance of buildings and fitouts, cafeteria, transportation, security, tax issues and human resources management to a single service provider.
The bottomline is to cut costs, improve efficiencies and adhere to the highest standards, he said.
Businesses want to focus on their core competencies and outsource all support functions to ensure a hassle-free corporate environment.
Mr Ghosh said that given the scale of current operations of the IT majors, it was a challenge to address the support function requirements of multiple offices across numerous locations.
This apart, outsourcing has made India part of a global supply chain and not merely a vendor.
Clients too were keen to know and monitor the service standards followed by their partners here.
Mr Sanjay Dutt, Chief Executive Officer, Jones Lang LaSalle, said IBM had the foresight when it took over Daksh eService.
Recently, Airtel had sought IBM Daksh services, from leasing to database management, for its 5,000-plus offices, he said.
IBM Daksh offers business process services to cut costs, improve operation efficiencies across various verticals with focus on customer relationship management, finance and administration, procurement and supply chain outsourcing, human resource and outsourcing, besides industry-specific back-office and analytics services.
Mr Ghosh said, while it was a huge opportunity for such service providers to offer a one-stop solution, it was imperative that the services rendered should be of the highest standards.
