The Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, on Saturday laid the foundation stone of the unified campus of the Bose Institute in Salt Lake, on the eastern part of city. He did not give any speech there.
The new campus will bring all departments and research activities of the Institute, founded by Acharya Jagadish Chandra Bose, under one roof. It is likely to be fully operational within next two years.
Along with the Union science and technology minister, Mr Vilasrao Deshmukh, West Bengal Governor Mr M K Narayan, State commerce and industries minister, Mr Partha Chatterjee and state panchayat minister Mr Subrata Mukherjee were present.
