A 20-member team of CEOs and potential leaders from various public sector undertakings will visit Europe for a ‘study tour’ in October. The team, led by IIM Calcutta’s Saugata Roy, Professor of Strategic Management, will include senior officials of BHEL, Power Finance Corporation, ONGC, NTPC, and HAL.

“The two-week tour to Geneva, Paris and Germany will include interaction with strategic and academic institutes,” said U.D. Choubey, Director-General, Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE).

“There is lot of talent among the public sector leadership, but their attitude is still traditional. Most of them just survive in the system. There is no effort to value-add for the organisation,” said Choubey.
