The Belgaum Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BCCI) and Sanctuary Asia's ‘Kids for Tigers' is planning an eight-day intensive campaign in Belgaum regarding tiger protection.

‘Kids for Tigers', launched by the ‘Sanctuary Asia' magazine in the year 2000, as an environmental education programme for schools across India.

In Belgaum, Sanctuary Asia will organise naturalists and conservationists to interact with the school children through slide shows on bio-diversity, conservation and climate change.

According to Mr Jaideep Siddannavar, President, BCCI, “We are initiating the campaign in Belgaum in the last second week of February during which, chamber members will involve with teachers to educate the students and to build support for the tiger.”

“Many networking schools in the task of tiger protection and who started with us are now strong tiger defenders in their own rights,” he added.
