The Goa Tourism department will be launching an innovative project through which visitors can get information about the State's tourist places through Short Message Service (SMS).
The Tourism Director, Mr Swapnil Naik, said the system is being developed by Infotech Corporation of Goa Ltd (ITGL), a state government-run corporation.
He said that each location would be allocated unique code number. “Anyone trying to know the information about that place can get it by texting the code number to 56070,” he said.
State's important beaches, heritage sites, religious places will be uploaded on the system, he said adding that the messages can be delivered in the text or audio format.
