Responsible paper production with focus on environment, energy and costs are key to sustainable development of the industry, said N. Gopalaratnam, Chairman and Managing Director, Seshasayee Paper and Boards Ltd.
Addressing a two-day workshop by the Indian Pulp & Paper Technical Association at organised at Seshasayee Paper’s factory at Erode, clean production technologies with lower carbon emissions for improved mitigating adverse impact of climate change goes hand in hand with efficiency and cost management, according to a press release from the company quoting him.
At the workshop on Chemical Recovery – Cost Effective and Efficient Operation, M.B.S. Nair, Director (Operations) Emami Paper Mills, said increased green energy generation through steam as also power for process use was a significant development.
Representatives from leading paper units and allied industries including ITC, West Coast Paper Mill, TNPL, APPM, BILT, Emami and JK Paper and Metso, BHEL, Honeywell participated in the event inaugurated on Thursday, the release said.
