Some people are born with silver spoons in their mouths, others can now choose to ride a silver bike. Silver Emporium, one of the biggest manufacturer and exporter of silverware, has rolled out a motorbike handcrafted in silver.

Targeted at bike enthusiasts, art-collectors and high-networth individuals, the silver bike comes with a price tag of Rs 50 lakh to Rs 1 crore, depending on the customisation.

Nano was forerunner

In 2011, the Tata Group unveiled a Nano car made of gold, silver and studded with precious stones worth over Rs 22 crore.

However, the valuable and fully functional car was a branding and promotional initiative by Goldplus Jewellery, part of Titan Industries owned by the Tata Group.

Rahul Mehta, Managing Director, Silver Emporium, said: “We can deck up any bike of leading brands in silver within six months lead time from design to delivery according to customer specification.”

Headquartered in Mumbai, the 30-year-old company has two manufacturing facilities in Jaipur and showrooms across Mumbai, Hyderabad, Jaipur and Delhi.

Meets hallmark norms

With over 500 retail outlets in India, Silver Emporium also caters to customers in West Asia, Europe, and the US. The product meets the stringent 92.5 sterling silver hallmarking standards and quality marks.

It will showcase the silver bike at the forthcoming India International Jewellery Show that begins on Thursday in Mumbai.
