A good demand perked up prices of almost all varieties of tea at the Kochi tea auction. In sale no: 2, the quantity on offer in dust CTC grades was 10,91,500 kg.
The market for good liquoring teas was higher by Rs 5-10.
Medium and plainer teas appreciated by Rs 3-5 following quality.

The quantity on offer in orthodox was 7,500 kg and the market was fully firm to dearer.
In the best CTC dusts, PD varieties quoted at Rs 97-116; RD grades Rs 109-146; SRD ruled at Rs 120-151 and SFD at Rs 132-180.
The orthodox sales also witnessed a good demand for select best Nilgiri brokens and whole leaf fully firm to dearer.
The quantity on offer was 1.67 lakh kg.
Others were irregular and lower.
Fannings were absorbed by upcountry buyers and exporters.
The quantity on offer in CTC grades was 55,000 kg.
The market was dearer by Rs 2-4 and sometimes more following quality.
A fair enquiry witnessed from exporters.
In the dust varieties, Monica SFD quoted Rs 180 followed by Kallyar SFD, Mayura SFD and Waterfall SFD at Rs 160 each.
In leaf grades, Chamraj FOP – (S) (Green Tea) fetched Rs 291 followed by Pascoes Hyson Green Tea at Rs 290.
