Buoyancy continued at this week’s auctions of Coonoor Tea Trade Association which ended on Friday, reveals our analysis of the market reports.
This was the penultimate auction for the current calendar as the market will close for Christmas and New Year holidays after next week’s sale on Thursday and Friday.
In all, 13.37 lakh kg was sold against 12.77 lakh kg last week.
This was the highest volume sold in 19 weeks barring 13.91 lakh kg sold on Nov 23. The average prices rose to Rs 95.86 a kg from Rs 94.16 last week. Consequently, the overall turnover increased to Rs 12.82 crore from Rs 12.02 crore last week.
This was the highest turnover in 22 weeks.
