The Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR) has developed a policy framework for Intellectual Property Management and Technology Transfer/Commercialisation for assimilating IPR culture in our research endeavours in agriculture and allied sectors.

Awareness on the importance of intellectual property rights and adoption to professional approach to dissemination of innovations are the two important aspects in the transfer of technology from any organisation. The event is being organised as part of the World Intellectual Property Day celebrations on April 26, with the aim of linking IP with creativity and promoting innovation and economic growth.

This occasion was initiated by the World Intellectual Property Organisation (WIPO) in 2001 to make the general public aware of the role of IP in the economic, social and cultural development and to celebrate the contribution made by innovators and artists to the development of societies around the world.
