The Kerala Government is planning to procure raw coconut through all Krishi Bhavans to arrest the declining price trend.
State Agriculture Minister K.P. Mohanan said here that the Government would extend financial assistance to install modern copra dryers through co-operatives and farmers federations’ initiatives.
The Minister was speaking after inaugurating the Ernakulam district coconut farmer’s meet. State Minister of Food and Civil Supplies Anoop Jacob presided over the function.
Speaking on the occasion, T.K. Jose, Chairman, Coconut Development Board, called upon the coconut producer societies and federations to come together to become a formidable force to influence in policy decision pertaining to the coconut sector.
