The Tamil Nadu Agricultural University is starting a Centre of Excellence at Madurai.
The emphasis at this CoE will be on post-doctoral research and the candidates will be trained for teaching and research, said K. Ramasamy, Vice-Chancellor, TNAU.
"The demand for post-doctoral researcher is huge, and this is not just in India, but globally," he said.
The farm varsity would provide equipment and library materials for these post-doctoral researchers, the VC added.
