In en effort at promoting consumption of Tea, Tea Fests would be held in various parts of Kerala, the Labour Minister Mr Shibu Baby John, has said.
The fests would be organised by the State Government in collaboration with Planters Association and Tea Board, the minister said while addressing the 72nd Annual General body meeting of the Association of Planters in Kerala (APK) here last night. The Government will share the social cause burden of the plantation companies, he said.
Outgoing chairman, Mr Thomas Jacob, said production costs had gone up while productivity has come down. The meeting also elected Mr G. Somanathan as new Chairman of APK.
