N. Sakthan, Deputy Speaker of the State Assembly, inaugurated the harvest festival and successful validation of two bio-pesticides developed by the Central Tuber Crops Research Institute here.
These are for use against banana pseudo stem weevil and have been developed as part of the Rashtriya Krishi Vikas Yojana at suburban Pallichal.
‘Nanma’ and ‘Menma’ were tested successfully on banana crops at the Sanghamythri Farmers Producer Company in Pallichal.
The project was undertaken under the aegis of the Centre for Innovation in Science and Social Action, the Central institute and the farmer producer company.
