Dhunseri Tea & Industries Ltd, the flagship entity of the Dhunseri group, has taken the tea packeting factory of another group outfit, Dhunseri Investment Ltd, on a long-term lease from this month.
Dhunseri Tea so far was using a factory located at Jaipur in Rajasthan on job work. The unlisted Dhunseri Tea has 10 Assam gardens and one factory in the State.
Dhunseri group, through its subsidiary, Dhunseri Petrochem & Tea Pte Ltd, recently acquired two tea estates in Malawi in South Eastern Africa, with a production capacity of 94.50 lakh kg.
Dhunseri Investments, meanwhile, said Plenty Valley Intra Ltd, a non-banking financial company of the group, is proposed to be merged with the company.
Under the Scheme of Amalgamation, Dhunseri Investments will allot to the shareholders of Plenty Valley one equity share of Rs 10 each in the transferee company for every eight shares held.
The scheme is subject to the approval of shareholders and sanction of the Calcutta High Court.
