Edible oil prices have remained steady during the second week of September, the Consumer Affairs Ministry said today.
“As per data monitored by the Ministry of Consumer Affairs and Food, prices of edible oils during the week ending September 19 remained steady across the country,” an official statement said.
During the week under review, prices of groundnut oil, mustard oil and vanaspati remained steady at all the reporting centres across the country except at few centres which reported fall in prices, the statement added.
The price monitoring cell of the Consumer Affairs Ministry regularly monitors the prices of 22 essential commodities at 55 market centres across the country to keep the prices under check.
The commodities, whose prices are regularly monitored, include onion, rice, wheat, flour, tea, milk, potato, salt and various pulses.
