Pesticide manufacturers Excel Crop Care Ltd and Coromandel International Ltd have said that they have suspended the production and sale of endosulfan in compliance with the interim order of the Supreme Court.
“In compliance with the ad-interim order of the Supreme Court, the company has suspended production and sale of endosulfan all over India,” Excel Corp Care said in a statement to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
Coromandel International Ltd told the BSE: “The Supreme Court has passed an ad-interim order on May 13… Consequent to this, the Company has suspended production and sale of Endosulfan. The turnover and profitability of this product is not significant to the Company's overall turnover and profitability.”
