Farmers under the banner of Bharti Kisan Union (BKU-Lakhowal) on Thursday said they would stage a dharna in the national capital on October 18 to press for increase in the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for wheat and paddy.
“In view of rising cost of fertilisers, we are demanding increase in MSP for paddy and wheat from the Centre so as to compensate the rising input cost,” BKU (Lakhowal) President, Mr Ajmer Singh Lakhowal, said.
The national executive of BKU will meet in Delhi on October 16 and decide whether they will stage dharna for an indefinite period or for one day, he said.
