As expected, rain activity is building over the Bay of Bengal with the formation of a helpful wind circulation this morning.
The easterly to southeasterly winds will mop up moisture from the Bay and carry it inland to drop it down as rains over central India over the next few days.
These rains will travel further west, wetting Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and Rajasthan during this period.
East and northeast India too are expected to benefit, but large parts of northwest India and interior peninsula India would be forced to sit out of the session.
An India Meteorological Department (IMD) outlook for the next two days has warned of heavy to very heavy rainfall over sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Assam, Sikkim, east Uttar Pradesh and Bihar.
Heavy rainfall has also been indicated for Konkan, Goa, Orissa, Vidarbha and Chhattisgarh in phases over this period.
