The Gubba group has started the county's first germplasm bank in the private sector here.
The cold storage company, with a capacity of 90 lakh cubic feet, has been set up with an investment of Rs 4 crore.
The bank, which is earthquake proof and fire proof, has 57 secured lockers. Seeds can be stored for 5-40 years.
