Weak domestic and export demand besides selling pressure pulled down castor seed futures. On the other hand, castor spot was flat with expectation of some fresh export demand. On the NCDEX, castor February contract declined by ₹69 to ₹3,868 a quintal with an open interest of 25,320 lots.
On the Rajkot Commodity Exchange (RCX), castor March contract was down ₹41 to ₹3,889 and RCX spot castor was flat at ₹3,800. About 25,000-27,000 bags of castor arrived in Gujarat and went for ₹755-765 for a maund of 20 kg. Around 1,600-1,700 bags arrived in Saurashtra and traded at ₹735-745. Castor oil edged up by ₹5 to ₹780/10 kg.
