M. Harish Reddy, Executive Director of Ganga Kaveri Seeds Private Ltd, has been elected President of the Seedsmen Association (Andhra Pradesh). Y. Venkateswarlu, Managing Director of Yaaganti Seeds, will be Vice-President.
The new executive committee took over at the 17th annual general meeting of the Seedsmen Association held here early this week.
S. Venkat Reddy will act as Honarary Secretary and Treasurer. The new committee would hold office for two years.
The association has asked the Agriculture Minister, Kanna Lakshminarayana, to provide proper power supply in the mandals in the ensuing rabi season, which is crucial for the seed industry which grows seed in this season.
“We will give you a list of mandals that are crucial for us,” the outgoing President of the association, Satheesh Kumar, said.
