The Bombay High Court today granted anticipatory bail to a former employee of scam-hit National Spot Exchange Limited (NSEL).
Justice A P Bhangale granted anticipatory bail to Haryana-based Maneesh Chandra Pandey on a surety of Rs 50,000.
The EOW, which is probing into the Rs 5,600 crore-scam, has so far arrested four persons including NSEL’s former MD and CEO Anjani Sinha.
Pandey was manager (business development) of the NSEL and was among the seven employees sacked in the wake of the settlement crisis.
The manager, who has been named as an accused by EOW, was absconding since he was sacked.
It is alleged that Pandey played a key role in bringing on board members for NSEL.
Advocate Raja Thakare, appearing for Pandey, said the High Court granted him anticipatory bail but directed him to appear before the EOW for questioning.
